Rotate PDF pages and save the result
Rotate all or specific pages of a PDF 90/180/270 degrees.
To rotate PDF pages, upload the file, pick 90, 180 or 270 degrees, choose clockwise or counterclockwise, and decide which pages to turn. Leave the pages field as all to rotate the whole document, or list pages such as 1,3,5-6 to turn only those. The rotated PDF downloads as a new file and the rotation is saved in the document, so it opens the right way up everywhere.
How to rotate a PDF
Choose a PDF up to 25 MiB. Select the angle and direction, then either keep all in the pages field or type the pages you want turned. Submit the form and download the new file, which is named after the original with -rotated added. Open it to confirm each page is oriented correctly before you delete the source.
Rotating only some pages
Mixed scans are common: most pages upright and a few sideways. List only the sideways pages, for example 4,9-11, and the rest stay as they are. Page numbers are counted from 1. If a number is larger than the page count you get an error, so check the total before you submit.
How the rotation is applied
The tool adds your angle to each selected page's existing rotation setting rather than redrawing the content. Text and images are not re-rendered, so nothing is lost. A counterclockwise 90 turn is the same as a clockwise 270. If you run the tool twice on the same page, the two turns add together.

How do I rotate just one page in a PDF?
Enter that page number in the pages field instead of all, for example 3, then choose the angle and direction. Only page 3 turns and every other page stays as it was.
Is the rotation permanent when I save?
Yes. The new PDF stores the rotation on each page you selected, so it displays the same way in other viewers and printers. Your original upload is not changed, so keep it if you may need the old orientation.
Can I rotate a PDF by a custom angle like 45 degrees?
No. The tool only offers 90, 180 and 270 degrees, in either direction, because PDF page rotation works in quarter turns. It cannot fix a page that is slightly crooked.
What is the difference between clockwise and counterclockwise?
Clockwise turns the top of the page toward the right; counterclockwise turns it toward the left. Rotating 90 degrees counterclockwise gives the same result as 270 degrees clockwise, so pick whichever feels natural.
Can I rotate a password-protected PDF?
Not until it is unlocked. Encrypted PDFs are rejected with an error. Remove the password with the PDF Password tool if you know it, then upload the unlocked copy here.
