Convert images to PDF

Bundle one or more images into a single PDF.

To turn an image to PDF, or several, choose your pictures, pick a page size and download one PDF with each image on its own page. Pages follow the order in which you select the files. You can fit each page to its image, or place every image centred on a white A4 or US Letter page. It accepts JPG, PNG, WEBP, GIF and BMP files up to 20 MiB each and always produces a single PDF named images.pdf.

How to convert images to a PDF

Select two or more images in the order you want them to appear, choose the page size and submit. The PDF has one page per image. If you pick a single image the tool still works, but the form is designed for combining several. Check the page order in the result and redo the job if a page is out of place.

Choosing a page size

Fit each page to its image gives every page the exact shape of its picture, so mixed sizes produce mixed page sizes. A4 and Letter create a portrait page with a white background, and each image is scaled down to fit inside it and centred, never cropped. Landscape pictures therefore sit small in the middle of a portrait page with white space above and below.

Transparency and animated files

Every image is converted to RGB before it goes into the PDF, so transparency is not preserved. Do not rely on transparent areas turning white; flatten the picture first if it matters. Only the first frame of an animated GIF is used. The PDF contains images only, with no text layer, so it cannot be searched.

Related PDF and image tools

If the PDF is too large to email, run it through the Compress PDF tool, or shrink the pictures first with the Image Compressor. To rotate or reorder pages afterwards, use Reorder / Delete Pages or Rotate PDF. To fix a sideways photo before converting, use Rotate / Flip Image.

Frequently asked questions

Can I combine multiple images into one PDF?

Yes. Select several images and each becomes one page of a single PDF, in the order you selected them. The result is downloaded as images.pdf. Choose A4, Letter or fit-to-image page sizes before you submit.

What page sizes are available?

You can choose a page that fits each image, A4 (595 by 842 points) or Letter (612 by 792 points). A4 and Letter pages are portrait with a white background, and images are scaled to fit and centred without cropping.

Which image formats can I convert to PDF?

You can upload JPG, JPEG, PNG, WEBP, GIF and BMP files, each up to 20 MiB. HEIC photos from an iPhone are not accepted here, so convert them first with the HEIC Converter.

Can I change the order of the pages?

The pages follow the order in which you select the files, and there is no reorder step after upload. If the order is wrong, select the files again in the right sequence and create the PDF again.

Will the PDF be searchable?

No. The PDF holds your pictures as page images with no text layer, so you cannot search or select text in it. To make a scan searchable, run the PDF through the Searchable PDF tool afterwards.
