Merge videos into one MP4
Combine multiple video clips into one, in order.
To merge videos, select two or more clips, check that they are in the order you want and download one combined MP4. Clips can be MP4, MOV, AVI, WEBM or MKV files with different sizes or codecs, because each one is decoded, scaled to 1280 pixels wide and re-encoded. Every clip needs an audio track. The total upload for one job is limited to 200 MiB, and processing runs in a queue.
How to merge videos
Choose at least two videos in one selection. They are joined in the order you selected them, so pick the first clip first. Submit the form and wait on the status page. The result is a single MP4 named merged. If you picked only one file, the form asks for at least two.
What the merge does to each clip
Each clip is scaled to 1280 pixels wide with the height set to keep its shape, then all clips are joined and encoded as H.264 video with AAC audio. A 1920 by 1080 clip is therefore reduced, and a small clip is enlarged. Clips with very different aspect ratios will not match in height. This is a re-encode, not a lossless join.
Audio and size requirements
The merge expects an audio stream in every clip. A silent clip, or a screen recording without sound, can make the job fail. Remove the problem by checking your files first. The combined size of all uploads is capped at 200 MiB and the number of files at 20, and no single video may exceed 200 MiB.
Before and after merging
Trim each clip to the part you want with Trim Video before joining them. If the result is too large to send, run it through the Video Compressor. To change the resolution after the merge, use Resize Video, and to add a logo across the whole sequence, use Watermark Video.
Frequently asked questions
In what order are the videos merged?
In the order you select them in the file picker. If the order is wrong, run the form again and choose the files in the right sequence. There is no drag-to-reorder step after upload.
Can I merge videos with different resolutions?
Yes. Every clip is scaled to 1280 pixels wide before joining, with its height adjusted to keep the picture shape. Clips with different aspect ratios will end up with different heights, so similar shapes join best.
Why did my merge fail?
A common cause is a clip with no audio track, because the merge expects sound in every clip. Other causes are an unreadable file or going over the size limits. Check each clip plays and has audio, then try again.
How many videos can I merge at once?
At least two, and no more than 20 files in one job. The files together must stay under 200 MiB, and each must have an MP4, MOV, AVI, WEBM or MKV extension.
What format is the merged video?
An MP4 called merged, with H.264 video and AAC audio. Because the clips are re-encoded together, there can be a small quality change compared with the originals. Use the Video Converter if you need MOV, AVI or WEBM.
