Make a photo collage from your pictures
Combine multiple photos into a single grid collage.
To use this photo collage maker, upload at least two images, choose how many columns you want (1 to 6), set the gap between photos and pick a background color. It arranges your pictures in an even grid and gives you one JPG to download. Every photo is cropped to a square cell, so this tool suits tidy grids rather than free-form layouts with mixed sizes.
How to make a collage
Select two or more JPG, PNG, WEBP, GIF or BMP files, each up to 20 MiB. Set the columns (default 2), the gap from 0 to 60 pixels (default 8) and the background color. Submit and download collage.jpg. Photos are placed in the order they were selected, left to right and then row by row.
How photos are fitted
Each image is scaled and center-cropped to a 400 by 400 pixel square, so the middle of every photo is kept and the edges may be trimmed. Wide or tall photos lose their sides or top and bottom. The gap is also used as the outer margin around the grid, and the background color fills the gaps.
Choosing columns and gap
Four photos with 2 columns make a square grid, while 3 columns with six photos give two even rows. A last row with fewer photos leaves empty space filled with the background color. Use a gap of 0 for a seamless mosaic or 20 to 40 for a framed, scrapbook look.
Output and sizing
The collage is a single JPG saved at quality 90, so transparency in PNG files becomes solid. The canvas grows with the number of photos: 2 columns by 3 rows is about 830 by 1,250 pixels. Shrink it with the Image Compressor for sharing, or add captions with the Meme Generator.
Frequently asked questions
How many photos can I put in a collage?
You need at least two. The form sets no upper limit, but each photo can be up to 20 MiB, and the grid grows with the count. Use up to six columns to keep wide collages manageable.
Will my photos be cropped?
Yes. Every photo is scaled and cropped to a square from its center before it is placed. If an important subject is near an edge, crop the image first to the shape you want so it ends up centered.
What format is the collage saved in?
The collage is saved as a JPG, so any transparency in your PNG or WEBP files is replaced by solid color. If you need a PNG, convert the result with the Image Converter.
Can I change the order of the pictures?
The order follows the sequence in which your files are selected, filling left to right, top to bottom. To reorder, select the files again in the sequence you prefer. There is no drag-and-drop arrangement.
Can I make collages of different sized cells?
No. All cells are the same square size. For a layout with mixed sizes you would need a design editor. This tool is built for even grids with adjustable columns, gap and background.
