To rotate video, upload a file, choose 90, 180 or 270 degrees clockwise and download the turned clip as an MP4. A 90 or 270 degree turn swaps width and height, so a landscape video becomes portrait. The picture is re-encoded after rotating, and the audio is kept. Use it to fix a clip filmed sideways or upside down. Videos can be up to 200 MiB and 5 minutes long.
How to rotate a video

Which angle fixes which problem
A clip lying on its side needs 90 or 270 degrees. If the top of the scene is on the right, rotate 90 degrees clockwise. If the top is on the left, choose 270, which is the same as turning it a quarter turn counter-clockwise. An upside-down clip needs 180 degrees.
What changes and what does not
The tool turns the actual pixels rather than setting a rotation flag, so the clip plays the right way up in every player. It then re-encodes the video with H.264 and AAC audio into an MP4, so quality can shift slightly. Only these three angles are offered, and there is no mirror or flip option.

How do I rotate a video 90 degrees?

Which direction does the rotation go?
Clockwise. Choosing 90 turns the picture a quarter turn to the right, 180 turns it upside down, and 270 turns it three quarters clockwise, which equals a quarter turn to the left.
Can I flip or mirror a video?
No. This tool only rotates by 90, 180 or 270 degrees. It does not offer horizontal or vertical flipping and cannot rotate by an arbitrary angle such as 45 degrees.
Does rotating a video change its quality?
Slightly, as the video is re-encoded to H.264 after rotation. Audio is kept and re-encoded as AAC. For the best result, start from the highest quality original you have, not a copy.
Why does my phone video play sideways?
Some phones store a rotation setting instead of turning the pixels, and not every player respects it. Rotating here applies the turn to the picture itself, and the MP4 you get should then display upright.
