Convert SVG to PNG, JPG or PDF

Render a self-contained SVG as PNG, JPEG or PDF with a chosen output width.

To convert SVG to PNG, upload a .svg file up to 1 MB, choose PNG, JPEG or PDF and set the output width in pixels (1 to 4096, default 1200). The height follows the SVG's own proportions. The converter only accepts self-contained SVGs made of plain shapes, paths and text. Files that embed images, load external resources or use scripts, filters or masks are rejected for safety.

How to convert an SVG

Choose an SVG file saved in UTF-8, pick the output format and enter the width. Submit and download the file, named after the original with a .png, .jpg or .pdf extension. The SVG needs a valid width and height or a viewBox so the tool knows its proportions.

PNG, JPEG or PDF

PNG keeps transparent backgrounds and suits logos and web graphics. JPEG fills transparency with white and suits places that do not accept PNG. PDF produces a document page at the chosen size. For the sharpest result, set a width at least as large as the largest size you will display.

Why an SVG may be rejected

To stay safe, the converter refuses SVGs containing embedded or linked images, use references, filters, masks, patterns, markers, animation, scripts, a DOCTYPE or entities. It also refuses links to outside files and very complex drawings of more than 5,000 elements. Export your file as plain paths, or convert text to outlines, then try again.

Size limits

The upload limit is 1 MB. The output may not exceed about 24 megapixels, so a very tall SVG at a large width can fail, and the height may not pass 4,096 pixels. Reduce the width if you see a size error. For a favicon, resize the PNG with the Favicon Generator, or switch formats later with the Image Converter.

Frequently asked questions

How do I convert SVG to PNG?

Upload your .svg file, choose PNG and enter an output width between 1 and 4096 pixels. The height is calculated from the SVG's proportions. Then download the PNG, which keeps any transparent background.

Why does my SVG fail to convert?

It probably uses something the converter blocks, such as an embedded image, a filter, mask, script or external link, or it is too complex. The SVG also needs a width and height or viewBox. Simplify and export it again.

What is the maximum SVG size?

An SVG can be up to 1 MB and 5,000 elements. The output width can go up to 4096 pixels, and the finished image is limited to about 24 megapixels, so very tall drawings need a smaller width.

Will the PNG have a transparent background?

Yes, if the SVG has no background shape. PNG keeps transparency. If you pick JPEG instead, transparent areas are filled with white, because the JPEG format cannot store transparency at all.

Can I convert SVG to PDF?

Yes. Choose PDF as the output format and set the width, and you get a PDF at that size. The same limits apply: the SVG must be self-contained and free of images, scripts and filters.
