Convert Excel to PDF (every sheet as a table)

Turn spreadsheets into shareable PDF reports.

To convert Excel to PDF, upload an .xlsx workbook and download a PDF in which each worksheet is a plain table on its own landscape page. The sheet name is printed as a heading, the first row is styled as a header and every cell shows its stored value. It is a data printout, not a copy of how Excel displays the sheet, so charts, images, colours, number formats and column widths are not reproduced.

How to convert an Excel file to PDF

Choose an .xlsx file up to 20 MiB, submit the form and download the PDF. All worksheets are included in order, each starting on a new page, and there is no option to select a single sheet or a print area. Open the PDF to check that your columns fit before you share it.

What the PDF shows

Each sheet is drawn as a grid table in small type on a US Letter page turned sideways with half-inch margins. The first row of every sheet gets a coloured header style, whether or not it is really a header, and the header row repeats if a table runs onto more pages. Empty cells stay blank and an empty sheet is marked as empty.

Formulas, dates and formatting

The converter reads the values Excel last saved, so a formula shows its saved result. If a workbook was generated by a script and never opened in Excel, formula cells can come out empty. Cell formatting is ignored: currency symbols, percentages and date formats are not applied, so a date may appear in a technical form such as 2025-03-01 00:00:00, and long numbers are printed as stored.

Wide sheets and better alternatives

Column widths are not adjusted to the page, so sheets with many columns or long text may not fit well. For presentation-quality output, print or export to PDF from Excel itself. If you need the raw data as text, use Excel to CSV. To combine several exported PDFs, use Merge PDF.

Frequently asked questions

Does Excel to PDF keep my formatting and charts?

No. Each sheet is redrawn as a simple table of cell values. Colours, fonts, borders, number formats, merged cells, images and charts from the workbook are not carried over. Use Excel's Save as PDF for a visual copy.

Are all worksheets converted?

Yes. Every sheet in the workbook is included, each on its own page with the sheet name as a heading. There is currently no way to choose one sheet, so delete unwanted sheets in Excel first.

Why are my formula cells blank in the PDF?

The converter shows the last result saved in the file. If the workbook was created by software and never recalculated in Excel, those results may be missing. Open it in Excel, save it, and convert again.

Can I convert .xls or .csv files to PDF?

Not with this tool. It accepts .xlsx files only. Save an older .xls workbook as .xlsx first. For a CSV, convert it with CSV to Excel and then run the workbook through this tool.

What is the largest Excel file I can convert?

An .xlsx file can be up to 20 MiB. The whole workbook is placed in memory and drawn as tables, so very large sheets may be slow or fail. Split big workbooks before converting.
